Working for Peace
Japan is the only country in the world to have suffered an atomic bombing.
Tenbo was founded in a landmark year, 70 years after the end of World War II.
I’ve thought about what I myself can do as a Japanese fashion designer.
Even though I have never personally experienced war, I believe that the younger generation inherits this tragic legacy and it is therefore our duty to pass it on to the generations that succeed us.
I had the realization that I could use fashion to share this message.
That’s why I designed this hand-drawn origami crane shirt.
Like a thousand origami cranes, the cranes on the shirt spread their wings freely in a prayer for world peace.
